Creating personas is a great way to get you thinking about your target audience and how you can build relationships

Calling your audience customers, visitors or users takes away from the reality that these are real people. When you look at the characteristics that make up your ideal customer, and start to think of them as people, you do a better job of serving their needs.

I talk a lot about making your company or organization personal and turnabout is fair play. People relate to people, not inanimate objects or generic groups. Part of why Social Media has taken off is because it is a way to interact with genuine human beings instead of lifeless corporations.
