Eye tracking studies show that people are very good at ignoring banner ads

People skim and look for relevant information when viewing websites. Research shows most people ignore banner ads. My assumption is because ads usually do not convey impartial information like regular website copy and/or links.

Many corporate sites have ads for their own products. Not only does it look tacky and cluttered, now there is also definitive evidence that people don't look at them anyway. So if you want people to get to your product page you need to write good copy in the "regular" areas of your site.

Do you have banner type ads for your own product on your site? How could you restructure to attract attention in a natural informative way to what you have to offer?
